Galle Titans backed up their triumph over Dambulla Aura via ‘Super Over’ in the best possible way, their following match against B-Love Kandy seeing them dominate throughout with bat and ball, ultimately thrashing Kandy by 83 runs. Batting first, Galle made 180/5, Tim Seifert hitting 74 from 39 balls. The Titans went on to bowl out their opponents for just 97, all six bowlers utilised picking up at least one wicket, a brilliant collective effort.
JAFFNA KINGS
It will be interesting to see what sort of response we get from Jaffna Kings after they fell to a first defeat of the 2023 Lanka Premier League on Tuesday, losing by eight wickets vs Dambulla Aura. Despite winning the toss and batting first, the Jaffna batters disappointed with only Charith Asalanka offering resistance with a half-century. A score of just 129/7 was never likely to be enough and so it proved with the Kings taking just two wickets as Galle comfortably reached their target with plenty to spare.
THE PREDICTION
Expect a significantly improved Jaffna Kings performance here with one poor showing unlikely to shape a season. Galle represent stern opposition and head into this match with their tails up.
