WEST INDIES FORM: HOSTS MAKE LIGHT WORK OF SECOND-STRING SOUTH AFRICA

SOUTH AFRICA FORM: PROTEAS BOWLERS UNABLE TO CONTAIN POWERFUL WINDIES TOP ORDER

It’s now back-to-back defeats for South Africa in the shortest form of international cricket following their loss in the first T20i against West Indies in Tarouba. After scoring 174/7, their bowlers failed to take early wickets and paid a heavy price.

WEST INDIES BETTING ANALYSIS

We waxed lyrical over Nicholas Pooran leading into this series and stressed the power that he possesses with the bat. The powerful West Indian demonstrated his quality again with 65 not out from just 27 balls, clearing the role a whopping seven times. When in that mood, there is no stopping Pooran and it would be no surprise if he maintained his recent form. Therefore, back ‘Nicky P’ to rack up another 30+ runs here via the ‘Batter Milestones’ market.

SOUTH AFRICA BETTING ANALYSIS

On the back of having played the two-match Test series batting at number three, Tristan Stubbs has transitioned seamlessly back to the white ball format. This time coming in at number four, Stubbs smashed 76 from 42 balls in the opening T20i. Confidence and momentum across a quickfire series can be so important and with that that in mind, it may prove a shrewd play to back Stubbs scoring over 19.5 match runs.

WEST INDIES VS SOUTH AFRICA EXPERT PREDICTION

To have grabbed that first win early on in this series was a huge boost for West Indies and one which they really needed. But for South Africa, questions remain as to whether they are still hungover from that T20 World Cup final defeat. The number of key players missing for the Proteas, especially on the bowling front cannot be understated though.

The expectation is that West Indies will once again get on top of their opponents, taking advantage of facing a bowling attack without plenty of first-choice options. The chance to seal the series also serves as massive motivation, so back the Windies to make it back-to-back victories.
