THE LOWDOWN
BANGLADESH
- Less than 24 hours after being beaten for the third consecutive match in this tri-nation series, Bangladesh are back playing again as they take on Pakistan, six days after losing to them in their opening match of the series.
- The Tigers’ bowling was far too expensive last time out against New Zealand, conceding 208/5 which was by far the most in any innings so far across the series, so a significant improvement is required on that front.
PAKISTAN
- Pakistan will want to bounce back after their 100% record came to an end at the hands of New Zealand in their most recent game, the Black Caps thrashing Babar Azam’s side by nine wickets.
- Fast bowler Haris Rauf was rested in that match and Naseem Shah preferred, so Pakistan will have a decision to make on whether to bring Rauf back into the fold with it being imperative that they don’t push him too hard ahead of the T20 World Cup.
THE PREDICTION
Bangladesh have been by far the weakest of the three teams competing across this tri-nation series in all departments, whether it be batting or bowling and this doesn’t appear likely to change here. Pakistan will be highly motivated to come back strongly following a significantly under-par performance vs New Zealand on Tuesday and against a Tigers outfit low on confidence, they’ll be expected to do so. Back Pakistan to record their second tri-nation series victory over Bangladesh here.
