THE TEAM NEWS

AUSTRALIA

  • Australia claimed a second successive six-wicket victory against Sri Lanka to make it four straight wins in the T20i series and they can now complete a whitewash with a win in this final game.
  • The hosts were comfortable winners once again in a series that they have dominated and with Glenn Maxwell and Josh Inglis finding form having each scored into the 40s last time out, that pair could play another big role in this final contest.

SRI LANKA

  • Sri Lanka have been underwhelming for much of the five-game series with Australia and they will want to wrap things up with a win as they aim to avoid a disappointing series whitewash.
  • Pathum Nissanka has been the shining light for the tourists and the opener is likely to be integral to his side’s efforts with the bat while a much better all-round bowling effort is required.

THE PREDICTION

Australia have been far too good for Sri Lanka in the T20i series so far and a fifth straight win is on the cards for the Australians which will secure a series whitewash. The tourists need to be better with both bat and ball and while the T20 world champions have not been at their best, they have still been comfortable throughout the series and should be winners once again.
