- Netherlands could not replicate their batting exploits of the first match as they were bowled out for just 186 batting first against Pakistan, a total easily chased down by their opponents in 33.4 overs.
- Although the series now decided, that won’t affect Netherlands from a motivation standpoint and a win in the first ODI would be a fantastic result and give them real foundations to build upon going forward.
PAKISTAN
- Although Pakistan’s fast bowling arsenal ripped through Netherlands in the second ODI, the left-arm spin of Mohammad Nawaz accrued three wickets himself, sending a message to the selectors in terms of his importance to the team.
- Both openers were dismissed cheaply last time out, but once captain Babar Azam was in the runs and so was wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan, further emphasising the strength-in-depth within Pakistan’s top order.
THE PREDICTION
With this third ODI of the series being the last before the upcoming Asia Cup, Pakistan could field an even stronger team than they have across the last two games, should left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi be fit to play, although admittedly his participation is extremely unlikely. However, regardless of whether he was to feature or not there is no doubting Pakistan’s superiority in all departments compared to Netherlands and that is expected to continue here. Back Babar Azam’s men to make a 0-3 series sweep with another win.
