THE LOWDOWN
GUJARAT TITANS
- After their 100% start to this year’s Indian Premier League was ended by Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans were able to bounce straight back by getting the better of Rajasthan Royals to make it four wins from five.
- GT top the standings at the time of writing on the back of that success which was largely thanks to another excellent performance from Hardik Pandya with the skipper scoring his second half-century in succession with a score of 87.
CHENNAI SUPER KINGS
- Chennai Super Kings have made a terrible start to the defence of their IPL title but they finally got off the mark at the fifth time of asking by claiming the victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore last time out.
- That should give CSK a huge boost but they still have plenty of work ahead of them and if they are to get their campaign firmly back on track, Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa will be key having scored 95* and 88 respectively in the win over RCB.
THE PREDICTION
Gujarat Titans have been mightily impressive in this year’s Indian Premier League and they will hope to improve on their record as they take on reigning champions Chennai Super Kings. GT have won four of their five games so far while it is just one from five for CSK. That success came in the last outing for CSK and while they will be confident of the back of that victory, they have it all to do to get the better of GT and it is the Titans that are favoured to prevail with their consistency difficult to overlook.
