THE TEAM NEWS
RAJASTHAN ROYALS
- Rajasthan Royals slipped to a second successive IPL defeat in extremely disappointing fashion on Monday, losing by seven wickets to bottom of the table Sunrisers Hyderabad, who chased down 165 runs to win with nine balls remaining.
- Changes could well be made to the Royals line-up following these last two losses, with overseas players Glenn Phillips, Tabraiz Shamsi and Oshane Thomas all waiting in the wings after not featuring against SRH.
ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE
- Royal Challengers Bangalore finally secured their first win since the resumption of the IPL and did so in some style, thrashing Mumbai Indians by 54 runs with both captain Virat Kohli and Australian Glenn Maxwell both hitting half centuries in the process.
- After finding a winning formula, it wouldn’t be a surprise if RCB were to name an unchanged side here in a bid to gain some momentum, although if the pitch in Dubai looks friendly towards spin-bowling, then Sri Lankan Wanindu Hasaranga could replace Dan Christian.
THE PREDICTION
Rajasthan Royals’ batting with the exception of Sanju Samson let them down against Sunrisers Hyderabad and has proven the key factor in their most recent two defeats, with the middle order not contributing enough runs at a high enough strike-rate. Royal Challengers Bangalore in comparison look to be clicking after slow start with the bat and Maxwell in particular finding some form will be most pleasing. The depth of RCB is superior to that of Rajasthan, as are their Indian players and this should help lead them to a second straight IPL victory here.
