- Sydney Sixers bounced back brilliantly from their defeat against Hobart Hurricanes by beating a star-studded Melbourne Stars side at the MCG by seven wickets, chasing down 178 to win with two balls remaining.
- However, the Sixers have been dealt a huge blow by the news that Tom Curran has been ruled out of the rest of the BBL season due to a back injury, whilst spin-bowlers Ben Manenti and Steve O’Keefe are also unavailable for this match.
ADELAIDE STRIKERS
- Adelaide Strikers have endured an inconsistent start to their Big Bash campaign so far, winning one and losing two of their three games played, their most recent match a 49-run defeat at the hands of Perth Scorchers.

Such firepower gives them the confidence to take on any bowling attack and the experience of both captain Moises Henriques and Dan Christian can be crucial when a contest is in the balance. No doubt Adelaide Strikers are a dangerous unit and the Sixers will need to be particularly cautious when batting against star spin-bowler Rashid Khan. However, the superior batting line-up of Henriques’ side should see Sydney Sixers to victory in this one.
