THE TEAM NEWS
PERTH SCORCHERS
- Perth Scorchers continued their magnificent start to the Big Bash League by making it three wins from three and they will be confident of maintaining their 100% record as they take on Hobart Hurricanes for the second time in succession.
- The 53-run win saw the Scorchers perform excellently with both bat and ball but it was Mitch Marsh who stole the show with a superb knock of 100 not out on his seasonal debut and he will look to build on that against the same bowling unit.
HOBART HURRICANES
- Hobart Hurricanes were unable to build on their first win of the tournament as they were well-beaten by Perth Scorchers last time out and they have it all to do in this second clash in succession against the Perth side.
- The Hurricanes were brilliant with the bat against the Sixers but they were skittled for just 129 in their game with the Scorchers, falling well short of their target while they did not score quickly enough with big improvements needed here.
THE PREDICTION
Perth Scorchers look like one of the teams to beat in this year’s Big
Bash League having won three from three to begin the campaign. They
were outstanding with both bat and ball in their last clash, seeing off
Hobart Hurricanes in comfortable fashion. That was a fourth straight
success against the Hurricanes and despite surrendering home advantage
because of a change in COVID-19 protocols in Western Australia, the
Scorchers have to be fancied to continue their superb start to
proceedings back at the scene of their last victory.
