THE TEAM NEWS

BRISBANE HEAT

  • Brisbane Heat avoided a third straight loss in the Big Bash League as they earned a timely success against Hobart Hurricanes last time out, putting themselves right back into the mix for a spot in the next round of the competition.
  • Defending a score of 150, the Heat’s bowling unit did a solid job against the dangerous Hurricanes’ batting line-up as they restricted them to 136/8 to earn the much-needed victory.

SYDNEY SIXERS

  • Sydney Sixers were left frustrated in their efforts to extend their winning streak as their game with bottom of the ladder Melbourne Renegades was abandoned without a ball being bowled because of the weather.
  • They will now turn their attention to Brisbane Heat as they look to build on their six victories so far this season and they will be confident of doing so having won the last two clashes between the two, including in the final week of December.

THE PREDICTION

Brisbane Heat secured an important win over Hobart Hurricanes last time out but they will need to produce another big performance if they are to overcome Sydney Sixers. With just one loss from their eight games so far, the Sixers are superbly placed to defend their crown and will be eager to get back to action after their game with Melbourne Renegades was abandoned. They have won their last four matches and with their last coming against the Heat, they should be able to record yet another success here.

*This match has been postponed due to a Covid-19 outbreak among the Brisbane Heat squad.
