THE TEAM NEWS

BRISBANE HEAT

  • Brisbane Heat were taken apart by Melbourne Stars in their most recent contest with that loss making it four-in-a-row and their hopes of remaining in the competition are effectively over as a result of that run.
  • After three big losses in succession, the Heat were on the end of yet another hammering as they allowed the Stars to chase down 150 to win with 37 balls to spare and that kind of lacklustre effort is nowhere near good enough.

PERTH SCORCHERS

  • Perth Scorchers failed to make it three straight wins as they fell to a shock loss to Adelaide Strikers but their fate in terms of finishing at the top of the Big Bash League ladder remains in their own hands.
  • The Scorchers fell to a six-wicket loss against the Strikers as their bowling unit failed to defend a modest score of 127 but the Perth outfit are boosted by the return of key duo Mitch Marsh and Josh Inglis following international duty while Colin Munro is also back in the squad.

THE PREDICTION

It has been a miserable campaign for Brisbane Heat and their last four performances have highlighted their lack of quality. Their bowling attack was torn to shreds by the Melbourne Stars last time out and that is a big worry ahead of this clash with the side at the top of the ladder. Perth Scorchers suffered a shock loss to Adelaide Strikers in their most recent contest but with a clutch of key men back in the fold, their ability with the bat in particular is likely to be far too good for the Heat.
