- Already things have gotten off to a bad start for the Renegades after Liam Livingstone, their number one draft pick was forced to pull out of the competition due to England commitments and West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell has been drafted in to replace him.

It won’t be easy for Brisbane Heat to hit the ground running here when taking into account the players unavailable among their squad, but they have been afforded a friendly opening fixture against recent perennial strugglers Melbourne Renegades. Following a busy off-season, it may take time for the Renegades to click into gear, whilst the Heat do contain a significant amount of depth within their batting that could prove crucial in a game like this.
