Below you can find picks for Round 8 of the County Championship season from The Stats Zone's top Cricket tipsters. All times given are based on UK start times.
Sunday, June 11
Division One
Essex vs Somerset – 11:00 BST
Kent vs Surrey – 11:00 BST
Lancashire vs Hampshire – 11:00 BST
Nottinghamshire vs Warwickshire – 11:00 BST
Division Two
Derbyshire vs Yorkshire – 11:00 BST
Durham vs Glamorgan – 11:00 BST
Gloucestershire vs Leicestershire – 11:00 BST
Sussex vs Worcestershire – 11:00 BST
Kent vs Surrey – 11:00 BST
Kent come into this one on the back of a five-match losing streak in the T20 Blast and whilst this represents a change of format, it is unlikely to cause a change in fortunes for the hosts. They sit inside the bottom two of Division One and their bowling attack is set for a tough examination against runaway league leaders Surrey. Although the presence of new signing Arshdeep Singh should provide Kent with a boost at least, the all-round class of this Surrey line-up both with bat and ball should see them ultimately triumph comfortably.
Prediction: Surrey draw no bet
Durham vs Glamorgan – 11:00 BST
Durham have already won each of their three Division Two fixtures at home so far this season and with four wins from six overall, sit top of the table and in a prime position to kick on. Glamorgan are a solid outfit but are weakened significantly by the absences of both Marnus Labuschagne and Michael Neser through international duty. Add that to David Lloyd’s hamstring injury and it’s hard to see them being able to cope with the firepower of Durham, who are high on confidence and momentum. Expect a home victory here.
Prediction: Durham draw no bet
Essex vs Somerset – 11:00 BST
Essex have won just one from six so far this campaign in Division One and are still yet to taste victory at home (albeit both of their home fixtures played have ended in draws). Somerset though are just starting to build some momentum in red ball cricket, with the arrival of New Zealand bowler Matt Henry crucial to their resurgence and the Cidermen's current bowling attack is now right up there amongst the strongest in the division. Beating Essex at Chelmsford won’t be an easy task for Tom Abell’s side, who haven’t defeated the Eagles in red ball cricket since 2018. But you suspect this represents their best chance in a significant period of time to do so.
Prediction: Somerset draw no bet
