Division Two
Gloucestershire vs Worcestershire – 11:00 BST
Lancashire vs Northamptonshire – 11:00 BST
Lancashire fought strongly against Warwickshire last time out and were in a good position to push for a win if not for the weather totally curtailing any hopes of play on Day 4. They return to Emirates Old Trafford here, which can be very batter friendly but that shouldn’t concern their bowlers against Northamptonshire, who are rooted to the bottom of Division One and without the batting quality to cope against top flight bowling attacks. It’s hard to see Northants turning their form around anytime soon and Lancashire should come out on top in this one.
Prediction: Lancashire draw no bet
Nottinghamshire vs Kent – 11:00 BST
Two teams not in a good place presently, but it feels like Kent are in a significantly worse position that Nottinghamshire, mainly due to their injury problems. Joe Denly and Jordan Cox are the latest additions to the Canterbury treatment table, both injured during defeat against Essex. Losing those two alongside Daniel Bell-Drummond is a huge blow to their batting and Nottinghamshire may well capitalise and take the 20 wickets required to give themselves a chance of victory here. Whilst the hosts have struggled themselves recently, the spine of their team are expected to step up against such depleted opposition, so back Nottinghamshire to win via the draw no bet market.
Prediction: Nottinghamshire draw no bet
Warwickshire vs Middlesex – 11:00 BST
Middlesex’s batting continues to serve as their undoing this season despite the best efforts of the bowlers, Surrey being the latest team to force a Middlesex top order capitulation. Realistically, it could get very messy for those Middlesex batters against Warwickshire and their notoriously strong bowling attack that continues to lay the foundations for their title challenge. Warwickshire were under-par vs Lancashire and will be desperate to make up for that in what is seen by many a must-win game for them if they are to keep alive their hopes of finishing top of the table come the end of the season. Expect the hosts to get the win they so desperately need here at Edgbaston.
Prediction: Warwickshire draw no bet
