Northamptonshire vs Somerset – 11:00 BST
The cider may still be flowing in Somerset after their T20 Blast triumph this past weekend but for the players, attention will have turned to this County Championship fixture away at bottom-placed Northamptonshire. In county cricket we often see teams take the momentum from doing well in a white ball competition and go on to start winning in the County Championship. When you also take into account Somerset’s brilliant performance against Hampshire with a heavily weakened side, it bodes well for them here against the basement club of Division One. Back Somerset to beat Northants over the course of four days.
Prediction: Somerset draw no bet
Derbyshire vs Durham – 11:00 BST
Durham racked up another big haul of points last time out, beating Gloucestershire at home to take another step closer to their long-awaited return to Division One. They are by far and away the best team in Division Two and it’s hard to see them slipping up at any stage right now. The batting and bowling of Durham are equally as potent and should prove too strong for Derbyshire over four days, provided rain doesn’t disrupt play. Therefore, backing Durham to win via the draw no bet market is advised.
Prediction: Durham draw no bet
Warwickshire vs Lancashire – 11:00 BST
Lancashire are coming off the back of defeat in Blackpool at the hands of Essex, their first loss of the season in red ball cricket. Meanwhile, Warwickshire thrashed Kent and are now well and truly back in the title race with a game in hand over Surrey. The Bears cannot afford to drop points though and they’ll need to be at their best against Keaton Jennings’ side. Home advantage should play into Warwickshire’s favour and their bowling attack in particular looks significantly stronger than their opponents. That may well make the difference on what could be a result pitch, so utilise the draw no bet market to back a Warwickshire victory.
Prediction: Warwickshire draw no bet
