THE PREDICTION

Tournament favourites India were the best performing team across the Group Stage, winning all three of their games played and accumulating the highest net-run-rate of all the nations competing. The question is whether they can maintain their high levels of performance against Bangladesh. There is no reason to believe that they can’t and have every right to feel confident against a side that were bowled out for just 97 against England in their opening fixture. Although the renaissance of the Tigers in Group A was admirable as they came back to win their next two games to finish runners-up, India like England are an elite opponent who combine style and power with the bat, not to mention discipline and potency with the ball. India are likely to dominate throughout this quarter-final whether they be batting or bowling first and should emerge as comprehensive winners.
