THE PREDICTION

After topping their Conference Group, Nottinghamshire have gone on to well and truly underline their County Championship credentials in Division One with a thumping victory away at last year’s Bob Willis Trophy finalists Somerset by an innings and 160 runs. It was a tremendous all-round performance with one century, two half-centuries, two scores in the 40s and 20 wickets accrued by the bowling unit. With momentum sky high within the Notts camp, they be looking to repeating the dose against Lancashire, who may prove more stubborn opposition when taking into account their line-up that includes the likes of in-form batter Josh Bohannon on the back of his 170 last time out over Warwickshire, all-rounder Liam Livingstone, fast bowler Saqib Mahmood and leg-spin-bowler Matt Parkinson.

However, Nottinghamshire have established themselves as a formidable home outfit in red ball cricket, having won their last three County Championship matches played at Trent Bridge by an innings. With the right blend of experience and youth, all bases covered within the side and everybody contributing within the squad, it would be no surprise to see Nottinghamshire make it two successive Division One victories here so consider them draw no bet.
