THE PREDICTION
Perth Scorchers were left frustrated in their quest to build on their opening win of the competition as their game with Adelaide Strikers was unable to reach a conclusion. The Strikers managed ten overs but the game was further reduced in length as the Scorchers were set 52 from seven overs, although even that could not be achieved as the game was curtailed after they had faced just 17 balls. They now take on a Sydney Thunder side that have won back-to-back games after they overcame reigning champions Brisbane Heat. An opening partnership of 71 from Tammy Beaumont and Rachel Trenaman did the damage with the bat before Heather Knight took 3-4 as they demolished the Heat batting line-up, leaving them at 30/7 before the game was ended with the Thunder 14 runs ahead on the D/L method. They will be full of confidence after that display and although the Scorchers are capable of beating anybody on their day, the Thunder can edge this one.
