Como Preview: Cesc’s Como

Cesc Fabregas took charge of Como on an official and permanent basis over the summer following their promotion to the top-flight last season. They have been entertaining to watch and also reasonably effective as they try and push away from the bottom three.

Como’s 17 matches so far this season have consisted of 48 goals. They come into this one on the back of a 2-0 loss to Internazionale at San Siro last week due to second-half strikes from Carlos Augusto and France international striker Marcus Thuram.

Lecce Preview: Lacklustre Lecce

Luca Gotti has a very reactive and defensive style of football that has his Lecce side pushing away from the bottom three and the relegation places after they pulled off something of a mini ‘great escape’ last season with a very defensive style of football.

That defensive style of football has seen them score just 11 goals in 17 matches, four fewer than any other team in Serie A. They come into this one on the back of a 2-1 loss at home to Lazio in Apulia last weekend with a late winner scored by Adam Marusic.

Como Team News: Still no Maximo Perrone

Former Manchester City midfielder Maximo Perrone remains unavailable due to a thigh injury for this weekend. They also have some key injury doubts such as Alessandro Gabrielloni, Marco Sala and Alberto Moreno.

Predicted XI (3-5-1-1): Pepe Reina; Van Der Brempt, Goldaniga, Dossena, Kempf, Fadera; Strefezza, Sergi Roberto, Da Cunha; Nico Paz; Belotti

Unavailable: Maximo Perrone (Injured)

Questionable: Gabrielloni (Injured), Sala (Injured), Alberto Moreno (Injured)

Lecce Team News: Guilbert suspension

Former Aston Villa full-back Frederic Guilbert is missing for this weekend due to suspension and they also have some key injuries such as Andy Pelmard and Joan Gonzalez, whilst Lameck Banda remains a key injury doubt.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Falcone; Bonifazi, Baschirotto, Jean, Dorgu; Coulibaly, Berisha, Rafia; Pierotti, Krstovic, Tete Morente

Unavailable: Pelmard (Injured), Guilbert (Suspended), Gaspar (Injured), Joan Gonzalez (Injured)

Questionable: Gallo (Injured), Banda (Injured)

Como vs Lecce Prediction

This is a contrast in styles between two sides that are expected to spend most of this season battling down towards the bottom end of the table. It is a test to see which style is most effective with both contrasting styles currently delivering their pre-season targets of avoiding the bottom three. Como, though, with their home advantage, will likely take the imitative here and a double chance bet in their favour would appear a good value bet for this one by Lake Como.

Como vs Lecce Tip: Double chance – Como to win or draw
