WHO ARE THE LEADING MEDAL CONTENDERS?

The world record for this event was set by the incomparable Adam Peaty, of Great Britain, in 2019 in Gwangju, South Korea. He recorded a time of 56.88 seconds and it was the fifth time he had broke the world record. The Commonwealth Games record for this event was also set by Peaty in 2018 at the Gold Coast competition, with a time of 58.59 seconds.
