Colombia vs Paraguay Prediction
Colombia reached the final of the CONMEBOL Copa America last summer but have since been in fairly dodgy form, slipping to sixth in the CONMEBOL table for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as they now play a Paraguay side that have leapfrogged them in the ten-team table.
The Colombians have suffered three successive qualifying defeats ahead of this one with that losing streak extended in Brazil last week. Raphinha opened the scoring after six minutes from the penalty spot in that game before Colombia’s equaliser scored by Luis Diaz and then Vinicius Junior notched a winner deep into second-half stoppage-time.
They now take on a Paraguay side that edged past Chile by a goal to nil at Estadio Defensores del Chaco the other day thanks to a 60th minute winner scored by defender Omar Alderete. The Paraguayans have now enjoyed a seven-match unbeaten run of form since their group stage exit at the 2024 CONMEBOL Copa America last summer.
Colombia are a very strong side and they need to quickly rediscover some form. With home advantage, it is worth siding with them against the Paraguayans this week.
