The prediction

The Sydney Swans' trip to Adelaide takes on great importance as they look to really kickstart their season. Narrow losses to premiership threats the Hawks and Lions have been cancelled out by wins against the Dockers (narrowly) and Kangaroos (comprehensively).

Collingwood, on the other hand, have put aside their opening round defeat at GWS with wins against Port Adelaide, Western Bulldogs and Carlton in the past month to get their year heading in the right direction. They currently sit in sixth position on the ladder and now face a tough test in Adelaide, minus key players Dan Houston (suspension – two weeks), Lachie Schultz and Jordan DeGoey (injury).

The Swans have dominated the matchup of late, winning four of five, most recently winning an instant classic in Sydney 89-86 in August.

The Daicos brothers Nick and Josh are averaging a combined 56 disposal per game for the Pies while for Sydney their leading possession winners have been Matthew Roberts and Jake Lloyd at 22 per game. Superstar Chad Warner has been well handled lately; however he has a strong record against the Pies so look for plenty of touches for him on this one.

Despite the neutral ground, both sides have supporters that will travel, and this game will likely come with a finals type atmosphere. We think this one stays very close throughout with the Swans getting the job done in a thriller.
