Whilst we’ve yet to reach the business end of the tournament, Coco Gauff is fast establishing herself as one of the ones to beat when taking into account how well the American has played over the course of her two matches so far. After recording a first career double-bagel victory over Sofia Kenin, Gauff then got the better of Maria Sakkari, also in straight sets.

Magda Linette lies in wait for the 21-year-old, having won three games to reach this stage of the tournament, all of them being in straight sets. However, Gauff represents a huge step up in class compared to her previous opponents and when taking into account Gauff’s power, not to mention ability to dominate the court, Linette has her work cut out here.

Gauff is likely to make a fast start and if she can establish a lead, then it’s hard to see Linette being able to pull it back, so back Gauff to get the better of her in a two-set contest.
