Club Brugge Preview: Club Brugge on the charge

Under the management of Nicky Hayen, Belgian champions Club Brugge have been magnificent in the last couple of months. They defeated Mechelen by two goals to one at the weekend to mean they are unbeaten in their last ten matches across all competitions.

They are also competitive in the UEFA Champions League with their last two matches being a defeat of Aston Villa and then a 1-1 draw in Glasgow against Celtic when they were the better side. They sit tucked inside the top 24 in the tournament ahead of the sixth match day.

Sporting Lisbon Preview: Post-Amorim era

One of Ruben Amorim’s final games in charge of Sporting CP saw the Portuguese giants hammer Manchester City by four goals to one at the Jose Alvalade last month. However, things have taken a massive turn since his departure over the November international break.

They come into this one on the back of three successive losses with Joao Pereira at the helm, albeit not able to be in the dugout for UEFA Champions League matches due to not completing the requisite coaching badges. They were hammered by Arsenal a couple of weeks ago.

Club Brugge Team News: Nothing fresh

Club Brugge have no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues to deal with ahead of the visit of Sporting to Belgium this week. They will be able to name an unchanged eleven from their clash against Celtic with only Bjorn Meijer a definite absentee.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Mignolet; Seys, Ordonez, Mechele, De Cuyper; Onyedika, Jashari; Skov Olsen, Vanaken, Tzolis; Jutgla

Club Brugge vs Sporting Lisbon Prediction

Club Brugge have only suffered defeats to two strong sides, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, during this campaign and they will fancy their chances of a top 24 finish as they head into the final three matches. Something, if not broken, has gone massively wrong since the departure of Amorim and Sporting are in danger of letting some brilliant work go to waste. With their home advantage, a double chance bet in favour of Club Brugge would appear good value for this one.

Club Brugge vs Sporting Lisbon Tip: Double chance – Club Brugge to win or draw
