Christopher O’Connell vs Jack Draper Prediction

Australia’s Christopher O’Connell has come through three rounds to reach this stage and his win in the first round over Hady Habib has earned him a round of 16 match with Jack Draper. He had to graft hard against Habib as both sets went to a tiebreak but he just edged both to progress.

Draper looked solid in his opening match as he beat Alexei Popyrin 6-2 7-6. After a month out of action to allow his troublesome hip to settle down, Draper looked good as he romped to the first set and then edged a close second.

He takes on O’Connell and he will be looking for revenge as it was the 30-year-old Australian who knocked him out at Indian Wells last year in three sets.

This is a different and much-improved version of Draper however and he will fancy his chances of exacting revenge. We were a little hesitant before seeing Draper on Monday but he is looking sharp and should overpower O’Connell here.
