Chris Dobey vs Nathan Aspinall Prediction

After a promising first week during which he reached the final in Belfast, Chris Dobey has lost at the first hurdle in both Glasgow and Dublin, although his performance level certainly hasn’t been wanting and he has ultimately ran into some opponents who have played excellent darts.

The world number eight also claimed a Players Championship tournament victory just over a week ago, so his game is clearly in good shape as he prepares for this quarter-final.

Under significant pressure having failed to pick up any points in the first couple of weeks, Nathan Aspinall finally got on the board last week by defeating Rob Cross and then Michael van Gerwen to reach the final in Dublin, where he lost to Gerwyn Price.

In truth though, the Asp benefitted from some wasteful doubling by his opponents, and although he took his chances well, his general performance level still needs to improve if he is to have any chance of finishing in the top four.

Dobey has generally been the stronger player this year and is tipped to reach the semi-finals in Exeter.
