Chris Dobey's admittedly slim playoff hopes are rapidly fading with the world number nine currently eight points off the top four in the Premier League table.

Dobey lost to Michael van Gerwen in last week's quarter-final in Manchester but produced a decent standard in the two Players Championship events this week, losing out in the last 16 on Tuesday despite posting a 103 average against Dirk van Duijvenbode.

Last week's runner-up Luke Humphries chose to skip both those floor events as he seeks to avoid the burnout he has referenced recently.

The world number one's run run to the final last week included a stunning 118.43 average, the third highest in Premier League Darts history, and if he produced anything close to that standard he is likely to win this with a few legs to spare.
