Chelsea haven't won any of their last five meetings with Arsenal, but with the Gunners looking off-colour lately, they could well break that duck in Sundays London derby.

Kick-off date/time: Sunday 10th November, 2024: UK – 4:30pm / US ET – 11:30am / US PT – 8:30am

Chelsea Preview: Impressive Blues

Chelsea sit in a relatively strong position in the Premier League table and took a point away from Old Trafford in their most recent league outing, Moises Caicedo equalising just four minutes after a Bruno Fernandes penalty had put the hosts ahead midway through the second half.

Despite making 11 changes for Thursday's Conference League tie with Armenian side Noah, Enzo Maresca's side ran out emphatic 8-0 winners in a European mismatch, and they sit top of the standings in that competition with a perfect three wins from three so far.

Arsenal Preview: Stuttering Gunners

Arsenal are experiencing something of a slump in both performances and results right now and quickly need to get back to winning ways in the Premier League, otherwise they risk losing touch with the likes of Man City and Liverpool at the top of the division.

The Gunners have suffered consecutive 1-0 losses, to Newcastle in the Premier League and Inter Milan in the Champions League, and there were very few positives Mikel Arteta could take from those two displays.

Chelsea Team News: Palmer to be checked on Saturday

Maresca will make a decision regarding Cole Palmer's availability on Saturday, although he did state that the England international had been improving since he sustained a knee injury from a tough challenge by Lisandro Martinez last weekend.

Jadon Sancho, who was ineligible against his parent club last week, is a doubt after picking up a knock in training.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; Gusto, Fofana, Colwill, James; Caicedo, Lavia; Madueke, Palmer, Neto; Jackson

Unavailable: Kellyman (Injured)

Questionable: Palmer (Injured), Sancho (Injured)

Arsenal Team News: Rice doubtful but Odegaard could start

Mikel Arteta was typically vague in his pre-match press conference and shed very little light on whether Declan Rice, Mikel Merino and Kai Havertz would be fit to feature, but we do at least know that Raheem Sterling is ineligible to face his parent club.

After a brief cameo against Inter Milan midweek, Martin Odegaard is pushing for inclusion and could well find himself in the Gunners' starting line-up for the first time since August.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Saka, Havertz, Martinelli

Unavailable: Calafiori (Injured), Tomiyasu (Injured), Tierney (Injured), Sterling (Ineligible)

Questionable: Rice (Injured), Merino (Injured), Havertz (Injured)

Chelsea vs Arsenal Prediction

This is a huge test for Arsenal as they simply haven't been at the levels required recently and they run into a Chelsea side who are playing with a lot of confidence right now. The Gunners have badly missed Martin Odegaard in the middle of the park, and his potential inclusion here would make a huge difference to their attacking threat.

Chelsea, though, are a team on the up and look capable of inflicting more misery on the Gunners here. Whichever way this goes, don't be surprised to see both teams find the net.
