CHARLES JOURDAIN: CANADIAN SEEKS TO AVOID THREE LOSSES IN SUCCESSION

Canada’s Charles Jourdain (15-8-1) is seeking to avoid losing three fights in a row for the first time in his career so there is plenty of pressure on him coming into this fight. After losing a tough split decision at UFC 297 to Sean Woodson, he was knocked out at UFC 303 by Jean Silva and he now returns for his third fight in 2024 desperate to get a win. Prior to these losses, he had back-to-back wins and he will look to those for positives ahead of this one.

VICTOR HENRY: VET LOOKING TO KICK ON WITH BACK-TO-BACK WINS IN OCTAGON

Victor Henry (24-6 with one no contest) only came into the UFC at the start of 2022 and he has made his mark in the organisation. He has three wins, one loss and one no contest after his bout with Javid Basharat was called after Henry suffered an accidental groin kick which left him unable to continue. Otherwise, he has done well so far and his win last time out against Rani Yahia who he TKO’d with a head kick and punches, was particularly impressive.

CHARLES JOURDAIN VS VICTOR HENRY PREDICTION

This is an interesting match-up on the prelims as we have Charles Jourdain who is struggling and in a negative dynamic, against Victory Henry who is on an upward trajectory.

Jourdain has been fighting at a higher level than Henry for a much longer time. He may have lost four of his last six and his last two fights, but it is all about levels. How he comes back from the first knockout loss of his career will be the key element in this fight however. At 28, he is experienced and can recover from that if he remains composed here.

He meets Victor Henry who has done reasonably well in his short UFC career but Jourdain should have his number. Assuming Jourdain has no lingering after-effects from his knockout loss and can bounce back, we fancy his chances of getting back to winning ways here.

It is an unpredictable fight so we would avoid selecting the manner of victory, but we cautiously lean towards Jourdain proving he is good enough and at the right level against the right opponent.

PREDICTION: CHARLES JOURDAIN TO WIN
