Caroline Dolehide vs Elisabetta Cocciaretto prediction

Caroline Dolehide had enjoyed an encouraging string of performances before her first-round exit in Miami qualifying a fortnight ago. She reached the quarter-final stage of the ATX Open before making the third round at Indian Wells, defeating Kamilla Rakhimova and Eva Lys before losing to Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk.

Elisabetta Cocciaretto has pedigree on the surface, having reached the fourth round of the French Open last year with fine wins over the likes of Beatriz Haddad Maia, and that may swing things in her favour despite a rather ordinary start to the season on the hard courts.

There is little to separate the pair in terms of ranking, with Dolehide ranked just seven places higher at 75 in the world. The two have never played against each other either so we have very little history to fall back upon, but the surface suits Cocciaretto’s game more and we think she will advance through to face Madison Keys.
