Carlos Alcaraz vs Luca Nardi Prediction

Top seed Carlos Alcaraz was made to work hard for his first-round win over Marin Cilic as the veteran pushed him hard in the 6-4 6-4 win. Despite not playing for over three months, Cilic did well but Alcaraz just had that extra gear or two.

He now meets Italy’s Luca Nardi who came through against Zhizhen Zhang 6-4 6-3 on Tuesday. He also had to come through two rounds of qualifying so the 21-year-old has played three matches to earn this clash with Alcaraz.

The pair have never met before but Alcaraz will fancy his chances of progressing here. Nardi is talented but Alcaraz is significantly better in all the areas that are a strength for Nardi. Expect the top seed to progress in straight sets once again.
