CAIO MACHADO: BRAZILIAN LOOKING FOR FIRST WIN IN UFC AT THIRD ATTEMPT
Caio Machado (8-3-1) came through Dana White’s Contender Series in 2023 but he has struggled with the transition to the Octagon. He the Brazilian has lost both of his bouts in the organisation as two decisions have gone against him in fights against Mick Parkin and Don’Tale Mayes. The man nicknamed ‘Bigfoot’ will be fired up for this one and has admitted that he knows his job is on the line as he drops down to light heavyweight for this one.
BRENDSON RIBEIRO: THE GORILLA COMING OFF SUCCESSIVE LOSSES HIMSELF
Brendson Ribeiro (15-7) is another graduate from Dana White’s Contender Series and he too has lost both of his fights since making it to the UFC. A fellow Brazilian, Ribeiro had won his previous three fights via knockout and nine of his 15 wins have come that way. The other six wins have come via submission so the 28-year-old will be looking to maintain his impressive run of stoppages.
CAIO MACHADO VS BRENDSON RIBEIRO PREDICTION
It is an all-Brazilian affair next up at UFC Fight Night 246 and the light heavyweights should put on an entertaining bout.
Both fighters came through the Contender Series and both fighters have lost their first two fights in the Octagon so there will be plenty of desperation in this one.
Machado is dropping down from heavyweight and it will be interesting to see how that cut goes. Ribeiro is a natural light heavyweight and he has good knockout power at 205. So much will depend on how Machado’s transition goes, but it seems a little desperate at this stage.
We like Brendson Ribeiro to kick on here and get the win. It is hard to see this one going the distance and while we favour Ribeiro, we edge going for the distance market.
PREDICTION: FIGHT WILL NOT GO THE DISTANCE
