Cagliari Preview: Struggling Sardinians
Cagliari, under the management of Serie A’s so-called ‘miracle worker’ Davide Nicola, come into this one having been quite steady throughout the campaign but the Sardinians have since struggled and the gap between themselves and the bottom three has closed.
The home team come into this one on the back of a 1-0 loss to Roma at Stadio Olimpico due to a 62nd minute strike by Ukraine international Artem Dovbyk. That means that the Sardinians are now winless in their last five matches in Serie A.
Monza Preview: Rock-bottom Monza
After their 29 matches so far this season, Monza sit rock-bottom in the Italian top-flight and they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting ten points adrift of safety with just two victories and their managerial dugout has been a bizarre place.
Alessandro Nesta was in charge from the start of the season until the winter break before then being replaced by Salvatore Bocchetti for just over a month and now Nesta has returned but performances have perhaps once again got even worse.
Cagliari Team News: A few injuries
Ahead of the visit of Monza this weekend, Cagliari are dealing with a few injury concerns. Adam Obert is unavailable for the hosts, whilst the likes of Gabriele Zappa, Romania international Florinel Coman and Angola international Zito Luvumbo are all key doubts.

Monza Team News: A few issues
Monza have been dealing with something of an injury crisis throughout the campaign but that has now shortened. Midfielder Matteo Pessina is missing due to a thigh injury, whilst the likes of Luca Caldirola, Andrea Carboni and Stefano Sensi are doubts.
Predicted XI (3-5-2): Turati; Pereira, Izzo, D’Ambrosio; Birindelli, Castrovilli, Bianco, Zeroli, Kyriakopoulos; Balde, Dany Mota
Unavailable: Pessina (Injured)
Questionable: Caldirola (Injured), Carboni (Injured), Sensi (Injured)
Cagliari vs Monza Prediction
In their 29 matches so far this season, Cagliari have scored just 28 goals, whilst Monza have managed just 24 goals themselves. The Sardinians have been low-scoring throughout the campaign and the same can be said for the visitors. However, there is a clear gap in quality between these two and despite the poor form of Cagliari, they will be expected to win this one in Sardinia.
