CAGLIARI PREVIEW: STRUGGLING SARDINIANS

After the opening few weeks of this campaign, Cagliari had badly struggled with supporter unrest and protests taking place against the players and new manager Davide Nicola. However, the Sardinians did recover well and do begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting outside of the bottom three and the relegation places, despite a recent dip again.

The Sardinians come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat at the Stadio Olimpico in the capital city of Rome against Lazio last weekend. Cagliari were behind after two minutes but equalised just before half-time before two Mattia Zaccagni scored a 76th minute penalty. Yerry Mina and Michel Adopo were then both sent off in the space of a few seconds for Cagliari.

AC MILAN PREVIEW: RESURGENT ROSSONERI

After a difficult start to the season and a start that still sees former Lille, Roma and Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paulo Fonseca under a bit of pressure at San Siro, the new Rossoneri boss has now pulled off a few famous results after their midweek hammering of Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the UEFA Champions League.

The seven-time European champions went to the Bernabeu as underdogs but goals from Malick Thiaw and Alvaro Morata gave them a 2-1 lead at half-time either side of a Vinicius Junior penalty before Tijjani Reijnders sealed all three points in the second-half. Milan also won the Derby della Madonnina against defending champions Internazionale in September.

CAGLIARI TEAM NEWS: COUPLE OF SUSPENSIONS

As mentioned, both Michel Adopo and Yerry Mina were sent off against Lazio last weekend so the Cagliari pair will be unavailable for this weekend.

Aside from those couple of suspensions, though, Davide Nicola is not dealing with any other absentees with the hosts having no injury issues for this one.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Scuffet; Zappa, Palomino, Luperto, Augello; Makoumbou, Deiola; Zortea, Gaetano, Luvumbo; Piccoli

UNAVAILABLE: Yerry Mina (Suspended), Adopo (Suspended)

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Terracciano, Thiaw, Pavlovic, Hernandez; Fofana, Reijnders; Chukwueze, Pulisic, Okafor; Alvaro Morata

CAGLIARI VS AC MILAN PREDICTION

Cagliari are dealing with a couple of key absentees right in the spine of their side and that is likely to be a massive issue for them in this one. AC Milan have still not convinced in Serie A but performances and results have improved since the early season struggles and the Rossoneri will be full of confidence after their midweek outing so backing Milan looks the way to go for this one at the weekend.
