The prediction

The showdown of the season looms in Brisbane. The ladder topping Brisbane lions take on fourth placed Collingwood Magpies.

The Lions remain undefeated after five rounds and have proven to be the measuring stick for the past 18 months in this competition. The Magpies have put aside their opening round loss to the GWS Giants and have been undefeated since.

Last week the Lions overhauled the Western Bulldogs, who built a 33-point half time lead, with a seven goal fourth quarter blitz to run right over the top.

The Magpies battled old rivals the Sydney Swans on neutral ground in Adelaide and despite trailing early they held on for a comfortable 109-78 victory.

The Magpies have won the last three contests between the two sides. Prior to that the Lions had rattled off the last six victories.

The Lions ride a ten-game winning streak dating back to last year and we think they can extend that superb record with a win in this marquee matchup.
