Brighton Preview: Sorry Seagulls

After a 7-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in early February, Brighton and Hove Albion were much-improved before the aforementioned March international break but they have returned to action with three successive defeats across all competitions.

The Seagulls were beaten on penalties by the aforementioned Forest in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup before then suffering a 3-0 loss at home to Aston Villa and then being beaten 2-1 by arch-rivals Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park at the weekend.

Leicester Preview: Floundering Foxes

Following the appointment of Ruud van Nistelrooy in early December, Leicester City have been genuinely embarrassing with the Foxes having managed just seven points collected from his 18 Premier League matches.

They were most recently hammered by Newcastle United at the King Power Stadium last week with the Magpies racing into a two-goal lead within 12 minutes via Jacob Murphy strikes before Harvey Barnes completed what would be a 3-0 rout just before half-time.

Brighton Team News: Van Hecke suspended

Japan international winger Kaoru Mitoma is now a doubt for this weekend following a heavy challenge he suffered against Crystal Palace last week. They will definitely be without Dutch defender Jan Paul van Hecke as he is issing through suspension with Eiran Cashin, Mats Wieffer and Carlos Baleba potential replacements at the back.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Hinshelwood, Dunk, Cashin, Estupinan; Gomez, Baleba; Minteh, O’Riley, Mitoma; Welbeck

Unavailable: Steele (Injured), Igor (Injured), Van Hecke (Suspended), Webster (Injured), Lamptey (Injured), Kadioglu (Injured), Milner (Injured), Rutter (Injured)

Questionable: Veltman (Injured)

Leicester Team News: The Winks debate

Ruud van Nistelrooy has confirmed that Belgium international defender Wout Faes is a doubt for this weekend due to a 'small injury' that he has sustained. Facundo Buonanotte is also unavailable as he is ineligible to play against his parent club, whilst a row between Van Nistelrooy and Harry Winks has seen Winks left out of recent squads.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Hermansen; Faes, Coady, Thomas; Justin, Ndidi, Soumare, Kristiansen; Daka, El Khannouss; Vardy

Unavailable: Fatawu (Injured), Buonanotte (Ineligible)

Questionable: Faes (Injured), Winks (Out of favour)

Brighton vs Leicester Prediction

Brighton, despite their recent poor form, still have an excellent opportunity to finish in the European spots in the Premier League this season and they are not yet out of contention completely for UEFA Champions League qualification. They face a Leicester City side that are simply racing to have their relegation mathematically confirmed and a comfortable Brighton victory down on the south coast is to be expected for the Seagulls in this one.
