Brent Primus: Former Bellator champ fighting for $1m
Brent Primus (15-3 with one no contest) may have been a former Bellator lightweight champion, but this is arguably the biggest fight of his career due to the $1m prize money. Primus beat Michael Chandler to win the title in 2017 but lost it to him in the rematch. He has enjoyed a solid career but now he finds himself in the final after a couple of submission wins and a unanimous decision win last time out against Clay Collard. The 39-year-old will be desperate for what will likely be the last big pay day of his MMA career.
Gadzhi Rabadanov: Dagestani Sambo specialist on 9-fight win streak
Gadzhi Rabadanov (23-4-2) got through his semi-final by knocking out Michael Dufort in what was his ninth successive victory. The Dagestani fighter has that typically dominant wrestling base and that has been key to his success throughout his career. 11 of his 23 wins have come by decision and he is formidable at grinding his opponents down. That will be his route to victory against Primus here.
Brent Primus vs Gadzhi Rabadanov Prediction
The lightweight final sees Brent Primus meet Gadzhi Rabadanov and this is the most one-sided final on the main card. Rabadanov is heavily favoured by the bookmakers to win and that is no surprise given how dominant his wrestling is.
So many factors are in his favour coming into this one and one gets the sense that Primus is a few years too old to really test him. At the age of 39, it would be remarkable for him to get the win over such a dominant fighter like the Dagestani man.
We do not think he will get the knockout, but expect Rabadanov to grind Primus down and get the win via the scorecards.
Prediction: Gadzhi Rabadanov to win by decision
