Brandon Moreno vs Steve Erceg Prediction

Former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno is refusing to ease off the gas as he is desperate to remain within contention to get another shot at the flyweight title. He lost the belt to current champion Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 290 via split decision and Moreno will be hoping that a comprehensive win in this fight will see him earn a rematch against the champion.

Australia’s Steve Erceg is the man standing in his way but he comes into this fight having lost his last two in the Octagon. He too lost to Pantoja at UFC 301 in a title fight and then he was TKO’d by Kai Kara-France at UFC 305. It will be interesting to see how he comes into this fight and whether those two losses half affected him physically and psychologically.

Our sense is that Erceg is not quite at the elite level and for that reason, we fully expect Moreno to get the win here. Moreno has TKO’d mutual opponent Kara-France and has some outstanding wins against better opponents that Erceg. Barring complacency creeping in, expect Moreno to get the win and this one could well go the distance too.

Prediction: Brandon Moreno to win
