THE LOWDOWN

OLEKSANDR USYK

  • After cleaning out the cruiserweight division Usyk moved up to heavyweight and finished Chazz Witherspoon who filled in as a replacement for Tyrone Spong.
  • Usyk is the only fighter to have held all four titles, WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO and The Ring, and has defended the WBO title seven times. Despite being a natural cruiserweight, he has the technique and speed to be the same devastating threat up at heavyweight.
  • Usyk is happy to fight anywhere, taking on Krzysztof Glowacki, Michael Hunter, Marco Huck, Mairis Briedis, Murat Gassiev, Tony Bellew and now Dereck Chisora all on their home turf.

DERECK CHISORA

  • After his knockout loss to Dillian Whyte, Chisora shows no signs of slowing down and has strung three wins together coming off a fourth-round knockout over David Price.
  • Chisora won the vacant WBO Inter-Continental heavyweight title with the win over Price and proved all of his knockout power is still there.
  • Chisora should have a considerable weight advantage on the night and, although Usyk is expected to come in heavier than the 217 pounds he weighed against Witherspoon, Chisora’s extra timber could be crucial in wearing Usyk down in the clinch and landing power the Ukrainian is not used to.

THE PREDICTION

Usyk will be lighter but he will make up for it with his technique and speed. He will also have a four-inch reach advantage which will help him download Chisora's patterns for the first few rounds and then use his immaculate timing and movement to pick him apart and unleash his power for a potential late finish.

Winner: Usyk via KO/TKO
