MAIRIS BRIEDIS

• After suffering the first defeat of his career to Oleksandr Usyk, Briedis is coming off three wins - making it to the Super Series final and coming off the wild and controversial fight with Krzysztof Glowacki.
• Briedis met the German Noel Gevor in the quarter-final of the World Boxing Super Series, earning a unanimous decision to meet Glowacki in the semi’s and finishing him via TKO in the third round.
  
• Briedis regained champion status after finishing Glowacki, claiming the WBC belt, but the fight was a circus. Starting with an illegal, unnoticed elbow catching Glowacki, more referee incompetence followed as the fight was allowed to continue after the bell with subsequent knockdowns to the Pole eventually setting up the win.
  

YUNIEL DORTICOS

• Dorticos entered the World Boxing Super Series off the back of his first loss which was a TKO to Murat Gassiev, losing his WBA title, but he has won two fights to make it to the final.
  
• Dorticos earned a unanimous decision over Mateusz Masternak in the quarter-final and brilliantly wore down Andrew Tabiti for 10 rounds to set up the knockout blow and his place in the final.
  
• Dorticos will be defending his IBF title and will also be fighting for the vacant The Ring cruiserweight title.

THE PREDICTION

A clash of styles should create a thrilling fight. Expect Dorticos to rely on his five-inch reach advantage and cardio to constantly offload his jab and 1-2 combination to wear Briedis down but the Latvian should use awkward movement to get off the centre line to offload a potential knockout blow.
