THE LOWDOWN
David Haye (28-4) will make his comeback to the boxing ring, three years since he retired after losing back-to-back fights against Tony Bellew. The Hayemaker has suggested that he has a big fight lined up against a heavyweight opponent after this fight and coming up against an opponent with just nine professional bouts to his name suggests he is easing his way back into the sport.
Joe Fournier (9-0) is unbeaten as a professional boxer but in truth, he has faced very little in way of quality of opponents. He was a winner in his last fight earlier in the year against debutant Andreas Felipe Robledo Londono while his previous four opponents combined for a 2-40 record prior to them facing the Brit, highlighting what a step up in class this is.
THE PREDICTION
David Haye will make his return to the ring as he takes on former friend Joe Fournier. The 40-year-old has been inactive for three years but has decided to step back into the limelight in a bid to resurrect his career after losing two high-profile fights with Tony Bellew. Fournier is unbeaten in his nine bouts to date and has KO’d all of those opponents but he has never been in a fight with anyone near the class of Haye and despite his time out of the ring, it is Haye that can return in style by stopping Fournier.
