THE LOWDOWN
Amir Khan (34-5) is set to return to the ring for the first time in nearly three years when he faces rival Kell Brook. In his last professional outing, Khan defeated Billy Dib via a fourth-round TKO back in July of 2019. With bragging rights on the line, Khan will be desperate to settle the score inside the ring and come away with the victory in Manchester.
As for Kell Brook (39-3), he will be returning for the first time since his defeat to Terence Crawford back in 2020. Prior to the defeat against Crawford, Brook was riding a three-fight win streak following wins over Sergey Rabchenko, Michael Zerafa and Mark DeLuca. With 27 professional wins via knockout, Brook will be aiming to put Khan away when the pair clash this weekend.
THE PREDICTION
This will be an interesting watch as both men wear their hearts on their sleeves. We suspect that the opening exchanges will be a little bit tentative, with both fighters wanting to try and get a read on proceedings. For Khan, he will have to utilise his efficient movement and speed and try to assert some dominance early on. If Brook is on the back foot, he will have to find a way to counter Khan and try to get Amir back-peddling. Ultimately though, we're backing Khan to use his ring-craft to great effect which will enable him to squeeze out a victory by decision in the eagerly-anticipated bout.
