  • Botswana’s 1-3 loss against Algeria in their most recent fixture is one of only two defeats in their last nine World Cup qualifying matches in Botswana (W5 D2).
  • Somalia have won only one of their previous 18 World Cup qualifying matches (D4 L13). Their only victory was a 1-0 win against Zimbabwe in September 2019.

Botswana vs Somalia Prediction

Botswana, as mentioned, had given themselves a chance of qualification in Group G but they now begin the sixth match day sitting six points behind group leaders Algeria as they take on a Somalia side that have collected one point from their five matches thus far.

Botswana, under the management of Morena Ramoreboli, come into this one on the back of a 3-1 defeat to the aforementioned Algeria at the Francistown Stadium the other day. Algeria were 3-0 up via a goal from Amine Gouiri as well as a Mohamed Amoura brace before Tebogo Kopelang brought a goal back late on for Botswana.

The Somalians, as mentioned, are one of the weaker sides on the continent and are already on the verge of being mathematically eliminated from 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification. They most recently did earn themselves that one point with a goalless draw against Guinea the other day.

Botswana will be expected to return to winning ways in this one and keep themselves in the hunt behind Algeria and Mozambique, especially with their home advantage.
