The Mallorcan legend has enjoyed a fantastic career but the 38-year-old is going to have to dig deep if he is to compete and get a win here.

The Dutch will be determined to spring an upset this week and this is arguably their best chance of registering a win.

Botic van de Zandschulp has had a reasonable year with the standout performance coming at the US Open when he stunned Carlos Alcaraz and beat him in straight sets.

That will give him the appetite to cause another upset and beat the legend on home soil. With Nadal playing so little and clearly struggling physically, it is hard to see him being able to raise himself one last time against an active albeit average ATP Tour player.
