Botic van de Zandschulp vs Nick Kyrgios Prediction

Botic van de Zandschulp had to go through qualifying earlier this week and despite losing to Matteo Gigante on Tuesday, he was handed a lucky loser reprieve and a clash with Aussie star Nick Kyrgios.

The Dutchman has been a little off the pace so far this year and his loss in qualifying was not ideal. He now faces Kyrgios and the winner will take on Novak Djokovic so it will be interesting to see his mindset coming into this one.

Kyrgios is carefully managing his schedule as he attempts to return to full fitness but there were concerns in practise as he clutched at his right wrist. That has to be a concern ahead of this tie and the tournament overall.

It is very difficult to like Kyrgios until we actually see him get back to winning matches. He has lost both of his competitive matches to Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and Jacob Fearnley so far this year and even though Van de Zanbdschulp us hardly at his best, it is tough to make a case for Kyrgios. Take the Dutchman to win this one.
