Botic van de Zandschulp vs Jan-Lennard Struff prediction

Botic van de Zandschulp will once again bid to take advantage of some more good fortune to make an impact in Madrid. 

The Dutchman is into a main draw at a tournament for the fourth time as a lucky loser in 2025 and for the third event in his last four. 

Van de Zandschulp has made some headlines over the past six months or so with his Davis Cup singles win retiring Rafael Nadal prior to beating Novak Djokovic as a lucky loser at Indian Wells. 

The world number 88 has been largely inconsistent this year but will hope to have too much for the out of sorts Jan-Lennard Struff.

The German is a former finalist in Madrid but has been poor recently, losing eight matches in a row, with his last victory back in February. 

That run has to end somewhere and he has good memories at this tournament as well as a winning record against van de Zandschulp on clay. 

The smart money is on Van de Zandschulp but there may be value in a punt on Struff.
