Detroit Lions showed some signs of being a competent offensive unit at the end of last season and they could well be fun to watch once again judging by their efforts in week 1. They went down to Philadelphia Eagles in a contest that produced 73 points and that could be a theme of their year. Washington Commanders showed some quality under new QB Carson Wentz in their season-opener as they got the better of Jacksonville Jaguars and the points are likely to flow in what could be you score, we score type game.
Prediction: Over 48 points
New England Patriots @ Pittsburgh Steelers – 1:00pm ET
Pittsburgh Steelers edged an epic encounter with AFC North rivals Cincinnati Bengals with their OT win setting them up nicely for the season. New England Patriots were downed by fellow AFC East team Miami Dolphins in what was an underwhelming offensive performance. They were limited to just a solitary TD and while star LB T.J. Watt has been ruled out for the home team, the rest of the defensive unit can build on a solid start to limit the Pats once again which can lead to a Steelers win.
Prediction: Pittsburgh Steelers to win
Tennessee Titans @ Buffalo Bills – 7:15pm ET
Buffalo Bills highlighted their Super Bowl credentials with a dominant win over reigning champions Los Angeles Rams to kick-off the season. The Bills looked brilliant in that contest and will take some beating this year if they can replicate that level of performance. QB Josh Allen was excellent but still has plenty of room for improvement and that spells trouble for Tennessee Titans in this week 2 matchup. The road team were disappointingly beaten by New York Giants last week and they could hardly face a tougher assignment here with the Bills likely to run out big winners again.
Prediction: Buffalo Bills to cover -10 spread
