The Czech stumbled to an early loss in his first match on the dirt in Monte Carlo after making huge headlines in beating Novak Djokovic in the Miami final. 

The 19-year-old is knocking on the door of the top 20 and is now set for a blockbuster clash with fellow young gun, Ben Shelton. 

The 22-year-old American had to come from behind to edge past Mariano Navone and has been in solid form himself, having reached the final in Munich. 

This is a tight one to call given the head-to-head is also tied at 1-1. 

Mensik has a slight edge statistically in terms of wins on clay, but he has a losing record against lefties and may find the extra zip off the Shelton forehand and kick off his serve tough to handle.
