Belinda Bencic vs Coco Gauff prediction

Belinda Bencic squeezed past Beatriz Haddad Maia in a tight third set to make it through to the fourth-round. Benic won 6-3 4-6 7-6 and now has three successive wins on the surface after her early exit from Charleston a few weeks ago.

Coco Gauff made it through with a 6-2 6-3 win over compatriot Ann Li. This was a far more comfortable victory for the American fourth seed than her second-round encounter against Dayana Yastremska, where she had to come from 6-0 down to win.

The head-to-head is fine poised at 2-2, though all of those matches have been played on hard court. They have already played each other twice this year, with Gauff winning their fourth-round encounter at the Australian Open in three sets and Bencic getting revenge at Indian Wells with a victory that also went the distance.

Gauff produced a far more consistent performance in her third-round match and may have just enough to edge past Bencic in this one, though it could be close.
