AZ Alkmaar vs Galatasaray Prediction

Former Belgium international Maarten Martens is in charge of an entertaining AZ side that have a tough task on their hands as they take on a similarly entertaining Galatasaray side this week.

AZ come into this one on the back of a comfortable 2-0 defeat of PEC Zwolle in their most recent outing at the AFAS Stadion last weekend. They have now enjoyed three successive victories across all competitions since losing to Ferencvaros by four goals to three in the UEFA Europa League last month.

Galatasaray, defending the Turkish title, sit three points clear of Fenerbahce at the top-of-the-table in the Super Lig with a game-in-hand. Gala most recently hammered Boluspor by four goals to one in the cup last week with an abundance of attackers such as Alvaro Morata, Victor Osimhen, Mauro Icardi and Dries Mertens.

As mentioned, Galatasaray have an abundance of excellent attackers and their eight league phase matches in the UEFA Europa League consisted of 35 goals with AZ’ eight games consisting of 26 goals so both teams scoring would appear a good bet for this one.
